Official consignment of Piaggio commercial vehicles by the Mayor of Athens to the Organisational Committee of the 2004 Olympics. The vehicles were officially delivered in May on the Licabetus hill in the heart of the Greek capital. Piaggio’s Greek supplier Spider equipped the Piaggio vehicles with cleaning equipment (garbage collection, road cleaners and chemical product cleaners for special surfaces). They will be used to keep Athens clean during the Olympic Games. The international press, in Athens to cover the Games, gave the consignment ceremony and the Piaggio vehicles widespread coverage. The cleaning fleet comprises 45 Porter and 60 Ape TM 703 vehicles. This successful sales initiative was made possible by Piaggio Hellas LTV (Messrs Monahos and Voutsis) and Spider (Messrs Mamakos and Petsios).
